So I have 100mbs Internet speed from time warner cable. The wireless router they gave us has terrible range and bad connection. So I would like to buy a new router/modem. But I don't know what would be a good brand that will handle the bandwidth and range(only 1000 square feet) and preferably under 125 dollars.

Check with Time Warner, they should be able to 'bridge' your WiFi modem so it acts as a stand-alone modem.

Most companies will not allow you to use a 3rd party modem on their network.

Either way, your issues (assuming hardwired is fine) is probably due to wireless interference, or a combination of that and range issues.

You would do well with a decent dual band router, perhaps one that supports AC.

D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, Asus all have great dual-band (and AC compatible) routers, usually $60-$100
