I play UT late evenings in my home office which gets quite warm during these
odd evenings when England is bathed in sunlight so when I started getting
lockups I was convinced it was down to insufficient cooling I was right but
for entirely the wrong reason my cpu fan had choked on a dust bunny still
spinning but with a much reduced airflow so my advice if you havent checked
recently now would be a good time or order the burgers for the great cpu

You should look into a recent invention - it's called Air Conditioning.

Quite a remarkable "sentence", by the way. Not one single piece of
punctuation. Your parents must be so proud.

Domestic air conditioning in the UK is pretty rare as it is only
needed for a handful of days a year.

Turn on your air conditioning and chill out.

Oh how remiss of me in haste I didnt bother with punctuation and since I am
probably of sufficient age to be considered to be as old as your parent(s)
or possibly grandparent(s) frankly it doesnt worry me in the slightest nor
probably my daughter. Air conditioning? well it would have little or no
effect had you read the cause of the problem - blocked heatsink vanes
which reduces the airflow.Worth checking on machines which get a lot of use
or haven't needed an upgrade recently.

Dead easy with one of these

I've tried the aerosol types but they don't seem as easy to use and
sometimes you get a squirt of propellant coming out too if you're not
careful with how you hold the can.

Goto http://www.mcmaster.com and do a search on 5568k11, that's _my_
computer dust removal tool. [Yeah, requires an oil-less air
compressor and a blow gun, but we have those.] Unbelievable amounts
of air, and since it's an aaero-spike design, there's no high-pressure
air blasts to damage the fragile bits.
