Hi,

I need to know the proper settings for the following configuration.

Asus A8N SLI Premium
AMD 4200 X2 Processor
OCZ 3200 EL 2 x 1 g, platunium Ram
7800 Geoforce vid card
Rapter 36 gig Hard drive

What are the settings for the Dram configuration

Memcloc Index value
CAS@ Latency (Tcl) - Currently 3
Min RAS # actove time (Tras) currenly 5
Ras to cas delay (trcd) currenly 3
Ro precharge time (trp) currenly 3
Ro cycle time (trcP currenly 11
Row refresh cyc time (trfc) currenly 14
Red to write time (trwt) currenly 4
Write recovery tim e (twr) currenly 3
1T/2T memory timeing currently 2

I would like to ge the optimal settings. Currenly i dont really care about overclocking since i would like a base setting.

thanks for your help.

A quick google (trust me it is your friend!) and this appears to be the memory you have and the latencies are included.

Just to clear up CL 2-3-2-5
means:
set cas latency : 2
Ras to cas : 3
Row recharge : 2
minimum RAS active time : 5
Command rate should be 1T for best

Other settings should be left alone, reading up on them will tell you that they are setting not directly related to speed.

Something to note is that you may not get these latencies, or you might get better (unlikely). In general you should get most of these latencies, otherwise you should get in contact with the manufacturer. Also, if you are overclocking, you may have tio loosen the latencies.
Don't be too bummed if you do, maybe I'm wrong, some people swear by tight timings, but you won't usually notice a difference between high and low latencies.

I always find it quite wierd when I look in the bios and find my ram at such slack timings, I mean, you pay for the ram and if you don't know how to use it you lose out.
