I have been working on my Toshiba Satellite c855d. I have been trying to get more performance out of it in video games. In all honesty the computer in itself is not designed for high end graphics and I purchased it merely to have a computer at the time. In High School, 10 years ago, I was a computer dork. I build a few PCs and Played Computer games 24 / 7. Since then I have gotten out of hardcore gaming for the most part. So, I bought this PC just for basic function. Surf the web emails and what not. It was Cheap I bought it brand new for only 277 dollars from Best Buy. However, In a moment of boredom I started playing World of Warcraft and the PC can barely handle it. So, What I used to do on Desktop PCs is Lower my Resolution done to the minimum. 800x600. Then I would Adjust the monitor to fit the image into the screen. The problem is on this laptop. There is no Screen adjustment to stretch the image. So, I can go into options and adjust my resolution to 800x600. But the image on the screen only takes up about a third of the screen and I can't figure out where the adjustment is to stretch the image.

Solution
You can clean your laptop. Defrag hdd and regedit, delete software that is not need, disk cleanup(windows program) or fresh install of windows. It may or may not show results. Change power option from balance to high.

Well, To clear up what I was looking for. I was looking for a way to expand the image on my laptop monitor. I don't know what the proper name of it is. But on older PC monitors there would be a series of buttons that would allow you adjust the image on the monitor screen. To change brightest and what not. By being able to adjust the image on the monitor you can go into the video card setting and turn in all the way down and that increases performance while decreasing resolution. But, with less pixels on the screen you are capable of making it easier on you video card. In short I have no intention of replacing my laptop or buying upgrades. I just wanted to find a way to squeeze a little more performance out of the machine. That's actually why I got out of hardcore PC gaming. It gets to expensive. You have to keep spending 500 to 1000s every 6 months to a year just to keep the performance of the PC up. That continuing investment gets to be to expensive for me. Perhaps instead of saying I need a new computer maybe you should be saying I need a new job. Or maybe my employer should just pay me more to compete. But, at the moment if there is no way to squeeze more FPS out of the cheap Laptop ,which I do agree it is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP, I would just quick playing PC games. Because, I cant afford the never ending upgrades
