Thinking of installing Tiny11 on my Steam Deck. You all have any thoughts about the safety and security of Tiny11 since it isnt an official MS release?

I find mixed answers, some say Defender does work and others say it doesn't.
It appears many updates aren't included and only way to get them is with a new ISO release

I wouldn't put it on a critical system

I would not trust any version of Windows that doesn't come from Microsoft, you have no idea what else you might be getting. In any case, I think you'll find that it's a violation of the EULA...
2. Installation and Use Rights.
c. Restrictions.
The device manufacturer or installer and Microsoft reserve all rights (such as rights under intellectual property laws) not expressly granted in this agreement and no other rights are licensed to you. For the avoidance of doubt, this license does not give you any right to, and you may not (and you may not permit any other person or entity to):

(ii) publish, copy (other than the permitted backup copy), rent, lease, or lend the software;
(iii) transfer the software (except as permitted by this agreement);
(iv) work around any technical restrictions or limitations in the software;

Microsoft don't approve of it, that is for sure. Fact its runs on unsupported hardware is a bit of a clue. It doesn't require a TPM for starters. That is the last thing they would remove from an OS.

Its also true you have no idea what might have been added into it as well.

If our writers hadn't written an article on it, I wouldn't be sitting on fence about it.
