So, it's time for an upgrade after a long 7 years.
Upgrading from i7 6700K+GTX 1080 ..
It will be used for digital art, animation, 1440p gaming etc...
Blender, photoshop, unity, substance, UE5 ...

and since i rarely keep track on hardware i could use any feedback or suggestion.

These are the components i had in mind:
MBO - ASUS ProArt Creator Z790 WIFI
CPU - I7 13700K
GPU - ASUS RTX 4070 TI OC
COOLING - CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE
RAM - Corsair Vengance RGB DDR5 2x16GB 6000MHz
CASE - Fractal North Case (i am aware about the tight RAM clearance)
STORAGE - ssd 1TB WD_Black SN850X + ssd 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus + probably will add more
PSU - Thermaltake Tt Toughpower GF3 PCIe Gen 5.0 1000W or 1200W ??? - since i'm thinking of keeping my 1080 to teem up with 4070ti for cycles rendering. Price is about the same where i live.

Thanks in advance :)

if you are considering intel, i would suggest the i9 13900k for the core count.

Alternatively, you could try the 7950X non 3D.

You might want to step up to 360 aio cooler for the sustained blender loads.

I would think that the 16gb VRAM in the 4080 vs the 12gb in the 4070ti would make a difference in your productivity tasks.

You dont really need the ATX 3.0 16 pin ready PSU, u can get custom adapters for 3 X 8 pin to 16 pin if the GPU uses it...

Thank you for the tips.
Will def think about the non ATX 3.0 psu. When it comes to PSU, rly do not know what's the difference tbh. Was thinking about Corsair shift series also ATX3.0, but i gave up when i realized it would barely fit with cables on the side.
You think Corsair 1000W rm1000x would be better? Would 1000W be enough with 2 gpus? new one, and keeping the 1080?

About the 4080, it was my first pick, but way to pricey for similar preformance. Bang for the buck is way off imo. My whole list is about 3k € atm.
If i step up the ladder for i9 and 4080, it would go up for almost 1k €. You think i would feel the difference that much?
if i was to break through the budget that much, would it be better to just stick with the i7 and go for 4090?

Thanks again!

^ the rmx 1000 has 6 8-pin connectors. so its should do the job and power both your GPUs...

The 13900k would be useful if the CPU utilisation is more in your work. same goes for 4080 vs 4090. You have to decide that based on your application resource utilisation.

The 4090 is the top tier card for now and i dont think nvidia would be launching their next gen car for 2 to 3 years down the line. And if your workload utilises GPU, the 4090 is gonna be a huge boost in performance and time savings. The 24gb VRAM would allow you to work with high res textures compared to the 4080.

So ultimately you have to weigh the cpu usage vs gpu usage in your workload and decide for yourself.

a 2X32gb or 4X16gb ram option could also be considered depending on your workload...
