Tips for overclocking

I have been having some CPU overclocking issues recently. I have a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 which has 4+1 power phases, 2 duel channel kits of Kingston hyperX (16gb) and an amd fx 8350. So yer, pretty much one of the worst overclock able systems. I'm struggling to overclock firstly because of the 4 power phases (but my CPU can go pretty high without much voltage) and secondly with the 2 duel channel kits of ram (same ram bought at the same time from the same place). I know the ram isn't faulty, I have tested it. I was just wondering if someone could give me some good valtages and timing setting for a successful, slightly stable overclock. Believe me, it's not easy.

Each component may be different to overclock, even under the same brand and model. You have to do it step by step and try.

Unless you want to push it to the max, I´d just overclock with multiplier and skip overclocking rams entirely.

I know, that's all I want to do. I'm trying to increase the multiplayer but my system constantly rejects it. It started happening when I got the new ram

I had this motherboard with a bad version of windows and i updated bios and i could not overclock anymore. But...

CPU above 4.5GHz needs about 1.300-1.350v.
RAM above 2133MHz need about 1.5-1.55v.

But its not really safe to overclock with this mobo. You have to it slowly and monitor the volts and temps until it gets the a fair amount.
consider temps about 85c max.

Each chip is different. Some chips will need higher volts to gain the same overclock as another chip of the same brand and model may need.

As for safe temperature on FX 8350 (octacore)

8 cores in general have a maximum of 61C, also suggested by amd - at least for extended periods.
