Hi I'm upgrading my pc, right now I have a 1060 3gb and an i3 6100 and 8gb of ram. I was thinking about getting another 8gb of ram and an i5 8600k, would they be good upgrades, and is my gpu ok for now? I mostly use for gaming and I have a 1080p@60hz res, and right now I have a non coffee lake compatible mobo so ill need to get one.

Thanks, Joey

The 1060 3GB card should be enough for now at 1080p. 16GB of RAM and an 8600K sounds great. I'd definitely go Coffee Lake over Ryzen if you're mainly gaming.

The upgrade Seems really good . Your gpu is perfect for 1080p gaming . but i will consult you too give Ryzen 5 1600x a look just in case if your mind changes.

A 1060 3GB is fine for 1080p60 in most cases at this time.

re: CPU and RAM, definitely double your RAM. I might just get a 6700K or 7700K on eBay or something for the CPU though. There hasn't been a new uArch since Skylake (Kaby and Coffee Lake are just higher clocked and/or higher core count Skylake).
