Ok so, I already have a usb cooler for my laptop the problem is that it's inconvenient sometimes since i have to bring it along with my laptop so I thought of adding an internal 2nd fan in my laptop.

The question is where do I get the power for that fan?

I'm planning to add a simple 15mm super small fan in this portion of my board

I can try to get power from the main fan too but I was wondering if it might mess up the cpu's fan control? I've noticed that there are also additional "unused" sockets in the board and was wondering if i can use them?

TIA

While you could fit it there, and wire it off the other fan, but it's not going to do much since it will press against the back of the case and not be blowing out, unless there is a grate directly underneath it. The current fan on there vents out of the back or the side.

I guess you're right. I plan to use it as an exhaust btw since I think the main fan is already doing a good job with the inflow.

Would putting holes on the sides of the fan work? (I guess this is OT for this topic... not sure but could be a good addition to people who're thinking the same thing as I do)
