Hey, I'm going to be building a PC very soon but I'm concerned about static electricity. Some people say not to worry too much about it but just don't stand on carpet or wear wool clothes, and some people tell me to have one hand on an unpainted side of the case. I can't get an anti-static wristband because they're out of stock for the store I'm looking at. What are some tips for avoiding static electricity, or should I just not worry about it?

yes, that will help. static is generated by things rubbing against each other, which is why walking around generates static.
If you have a cat or dog rubbing against you, that will also build up static and you'll need to ground yourself often by touching the power supply (if it's not painted)

Just a question, I'm not sure if you'll know this. Could I just touch the power supply while its plugged in but turned off and then work on my computer until I walk around?
