Tips on my first pc build

Hi guys, its my first time trying to build a computer and I am planning to build a ultimate gaming PC thru ncix.com with a budget of approximately$1300(not include a monitor).
Here is the list that i think it works.But I still wanna receive some expertise advice to ensure there isn't any potential problem about their compatibility and PSU.
(Forgive me if there is any typo or wrong using grammer since English is not my native language. )

That's pretty much all the things on the list.
The thing I concern mostly is the PSU. Is the PSU that i chose able to run this build? What about their compatibility(any incompatible part?)
Is there anyway that I still can save money and have the same performance and quality ?
(Feel free to point out what could be a waste on the list and suggest a better idea)

you didn't say what you were going to use this comptuer for.

If the main purpose does not include heavy computing (rendering, transcoding videos, things where you actually hit run then have to walk away for minutes) You may want to downgrade the cpu from an i7 to an i5.

The i5 will play the majority of games pretty much the same FPS as i7.


And also, if you don't need all those features from the Asus V-pro, you can get by with a mobo that's cheaper- even another of the Asus z77 ones.

You also don't need to pay so much for the d14 cooler unless you are heavily into overclocking. Many people do just fine with the cheaper CoolerMaster 212evo (or even stock) and get decent overclocks with that.


use your savings to add on an SSD-128gb at least (for more all-around "performance)
and/or increase your budget to switch in a more powerful GPU (pick a model from the monthly BestGraphics cards for the money Article)

By cutting corners, you could get the same FPS with a $500 build. You're overspending on the CPU, case, heatsink, RAM, PSU, and way underspending on the GPU.

For gaming, the graphics card is much more important than the cpu.
The 7770 is a fine card but relatively puny for good gaming.
My rule of thumb is to spend twice your cpu budget on the graphics card.

Also, few games use more than 2-3 cores, making the extra hyperthreads of the 3770K largely useless.

To my mind, a 3570K is as good as it gets for gaming, and deserves a graphics card like a GTX670 or 7950.
Take the wasted $100 from the 3770K and apply it to a better graphics card.

No game, by itself uses more than 2-3gb of ram. A 8gb kit of 2 x 4gb is fine.
And, buy a low profile kit. The tall heat spreaders of the vengeance are mostly marketing and can interfere with a cpu cooler.

The corsair 750 is a bit of overkill, but good quality, and will power any reasonable graphics configuration.

To save money, a $50 Antec 100/200/300 case will do the job just as well.

A build with this budget really deserves a SSD. I suggest you start with a ssd and defer on the hard drive.
A 120gb will hold the os and a handful of games. If you get 180gb or 240gb, you may never need a hard drive at all.
You can always add a hard drive later.
For reliability, I would look to Samsung 830 or Intel 330.

Thanks for the tips, i agree i should swtich the d14 to CoolMaster 212evo and downgrade the cpu to i5.D14 is just way more expensive.Also I dont really need all those functions from v-pro.
From the money i saved ,I think EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Superclocked+ 980MHZ 3GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DP PCI-E DX11 Video Card would be a good choice .

That price looks competitive.
I like the direct exhaust cooler on the EVGA GTX670 FTW better. It gets heat out of your case quicker.
And... it is $10 cheaper with a free game.

Overclocking a cpu does not depend on the ram. two sticks of 4gb or 8gb does not matter.
Get 16gb if you wish, ram is cheap.
