Tired of random crashes

My system keeps crashing during games and I have figured out that it is neither a driver issue, the GPU being defective, nor is it heat (at load is at 55C MAX, usually around 50C). Reinstalling drivers and installing updated ones didn't help nor did rolling back drivers help. My system is as follows:

I do not have an overclock on either the CPU or GPU. I upgraded recently from a R9 270 to a MSI GTX970 which turned out to be defective and gave me random crashes. I then returned that and upgraded to a R9 290X which is also giving me random crashes (just not as consistently as the 970). I never had any of these issues with my previous R9 270. I'm starting to think it may just be the power supply is somewhat defective and unable to pump out all the power necessary for the GPU? I bought a high quality Corsair PSU when I first built the system so I would have room for upgrades but now I'm thinking I should purchase a new one and try that. What do you guys think?

Yes I have, I already stated that in the original post.
