Titan quest wont connect to my hdtv via acer 5542

when I connect my laptop to my hd samsung tv everthing is okay until my game starts up then it disapears off of the tv back on to the laptop, I am using hdmi cable as my laptop desktop shows up but the game will not, please help as I have a very unhappy little boy here Thank You 🙁
