Question here, I bought the EVGA 12GB GTX Titan X and a Samsung 850 Pro 512MB SSD w/a fresh copy of windows7 pro yesterday. Install for the SSD went normal, but when it came to the Titan, it was a no go. Bios comes up then it stalls and just has the blinking cursor. If you try to go into bios or boot menu it says please wait then goes to the blinking cursor again. I have the correct amount of power, and the correct connections. I put my AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB back in and it worked fine after the fresh install of windows on the new SSD. I've reset the bios by pulling the battery but haven't tried updating it yet. My next move was to buy a different MOBO. This system started as the Gateway FX6860-UR10p.
Here's a list of specs that it has now, maybe I'm missing something...
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
CPU: Intel i7 3770 @ 3.4GHz
Motherboard: Intel H67 Acer IPISB-VR MOBO
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB (until I can hopefully get the Titan working!)
Memory: Vengeance 32GB DDR3 PSU: 750W
HDDs: Samsung 850 Pro 512gb SSD (OS) and 3TB 7200rpm Hitachi (storage)

I'm really just looking for some troubleshooting steps or what I should buy next to make this system work. Thanks guys and gals!

I'm not sure but you'll most likely need to switch UEFI to legacy in the BIOS. If the option is greyed out, then follow the below instructions:

In order to change the secure boot setting, you need to set a supervisor password.
Once password is set, secure boot setting will no longer be greyed out. Disable.
Switch UEFI to legacy and save. Now enter BIOS again and clear the supervisor password.

Bootable media from previous versions of Windows may not be recognized by your Windows 8 desktop. You can change the Secure Boot setting and it should recognize the bootable device.

Completely shut down your computer.
Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press Delete to enter UEFI / BIOS.
Use the right arrow key to select Authentication.
With Secure Boot highlighted, press Enter and then the down arrow to select Disabled.
Use the right arrow key to select Boot Options.
With Launch CSM highlighted, press Enter and use the down arrow to select Always.
Press Enter.
Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system.

Most of that is for windows 8, I'm running 7. I can't find anything to turn off in bios. I have to take the card out each time to even get to bios as it just freezes on the Splash screen for bios.

Lets backtrack a little bit. You initially mentioned that you haven't updated the BIOS yet. Would you be willing to try that now? And while/if you proceed with that, I will research this issue further.

My second question: How many power connectors does your Titan X require and what kind? 6 pin? 8 pin?

It requires both 6 and 8 pin. I've searched and searched for a flash file to update the bios, apparently American Megatrends/Gateway Inc/Acer offer separate files. I wasn't sure which to pick but then I found that most of them mentioned Windows 8 not 7 in the "Read Me" txt files. My BIOS as it sits now is P03-A3 Version 2.14.1219. The only file I found compatible was a zipped file named "BIOS_GATEWAY_P03.A3_A_A" Inside it has AMI UEFI BIOS Flash SOP for Windows. Looking back at the pictures now, the BIOS version was 2.10.1208 which I would think is an older version then what I have now? At this point I'm ready to just replace the motherboard honestly. I spent most the night hunting for this brands bios update file and so far I don't think I have the correct one.

So, if I can't get this working in the next couple hours or so I'll just replace the MOBO. My 2nd question if it comes to that is, what is a good replacement brand that is easier to get support on? BTW Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me with this!
