Titanfall No Sound?

Hey guys I'm really stumped with this. When I first tried to install I got a Direct X error. I downloaded all the latest windows updates, tried again and got the same Direct X error. I looked online and saw a recommendation to delete the cab files in the install/directx folder. Did that and the game installs fine but has no sound. I can get into the game, watch the intro and even get into game and just no sound. All sounds on the desktop work, I can listen to music and I verified the game isn't muted and still no sound.

After trying a few things I completely deleted the game, redownloaded, deleted the cab files as it was still giving me a directx error and...no sound.

Anyone have any ideas at all what this could be? I've been at it for the past six hours.

Solution

But if your windows settings are set to 5.1 and you are using stereo headphones, you'll miss half the sound.
It had something to do with .NET framework. I was getting an error code and ultimately that error code led me to the solution but it was so long ago I can't recall exactly what I did.

I believe I did a Windows search for "Turn Windows Features On or Off". Once in there uncheck everything that has .NET in the description. Restart your computer. Re-check all the boxes or radio buttons for .NET items. Restart your computer again and it should rebuild some files. Now try Titanfall.
