In terms of internet speed difference.. how do these two compare?

I have a really basic 30mbps ISP internet connection. Do I really need the $80 powerline or can I just purchase the $30 powerline? Will I notice any kind of difference? Isn't the $80 powerline just used for extremely fast internet connections??

Solution
You are correct it will likely make no difference when you only have a 30m internet. It all depends on your definition of "extremely fast internet". Like many things now days the numbers you see on these devices are magic marketing numbers that nobody gets.

What you will find if you read the reports on sites that test these various models the powerline units the ones that claim 500m get about 75m and the ones that claim 600m or 1.2g get closer to 200m. This means if you have the 300m or 1g internet connection no powerline unit will be able to run as fast.

Awesome. My lack of understanding of the "magic numbers" is what has gotten me confused. Thanks for clearing that up.
