Hello, I need a wifi adapter for my computer and I've been thinking about getting a USB adapter.

My internet speed at home, using wifi, doesn´t reach more than 50 Mbps, and I'm somewhat like 8 meters away from the router, with 2 thin walls seperating the rooms. My OS is windows 10.

What I want to know is if I should pay an extra bit and get the TL-WN822N model which has 2 antennas and a higher velocity cap or I should go for the cheaper option(TL-WN722N ) which should give me the speed I want (around 30-50 Mbps).

I ask this because I have other stuff to buy and I don´t like buying gear that I will not end up using it's full potential.

I've read that both products are relatively good.

One last thing, is there any improve in latency chosing one over the other?
I guess the basic question is, do I need the extra signal strength provided by the TL-WN822N model, since my router isn´t that far ?
Thanks for the help.

You would have to dig thought he fine print or the fcc license database to get the actual signal strength. The 150 and 300 number are not signal strength they are related to how data is encoded into the radio signals.

You need a router that has similar speed numbers or will not be able to use the faster 2 stream protocol.

From what i can tell there is only $1 difference in price. These are kinda older nics most people buy dual band. Be very sure to read the fine print some adapters do not have drivers for win10.

I would opt for the 300m one it has a much better chance to get the 30-50m you want. The so called 150m and 300m are marketing numbers that you get nowhere close to in real life installs.
