TL-WR1043ND V1.9 Slowing my connection

Hello,

As stated, I own a TL-WR1043ND router, connected only to my PC.

My 100 Mbps connection is showing up only as a 15-20Mbps on normal speed tests (http://www.speedtest.net).

When I connect my PC directly to the modem everything is fine at 100Mbps.

I upgraded the firmware but the problem still persists. Somehow the router is slowing the speed down drastically. Are there any settings I can tweak, or has this problem been seen and solved?

Would greatly appreciate the help, since I really need this router to work properly (and it can give high speeds).

Thank you!

That doesn't matter. A gigabit card will "autonegotiate" If the cable is not good it could be that your card is dropping to 100Mbit. Check the Link Speed in the network tab of the Windows task manager.

I just turned the Speed & Duplex setting in the card properties to 1 Gigabit instead of Autonegotiate. It might of changed it when i used TCPOptimizer.

Now it works like a rhino at 102Mbps!

Thank you!

Btw, should I enable the Jumbo Packets setting?

No, Jumbo frames won't change anything. It SHOULD autonegotiate correctly. You should get a new ethernet cable because, 99% of the time a negotiation problem is a cable problem.
