hi
i have a problem im hoping someone can help with, i have a OptiPlex 7020 Small Form Factor
it currently has tmp 1.2 installed and came on win 11 , though why i dont know,

there is a update for the bios but the update fails, i have already gone into shell.exe and told the sys not to take control on boot and followed all the other steps,
i understand this is a chip set issue but if there is a update there then i rekon this must be a different problem,
i also tryed to flash update, it did but didnt change the version,
maybe im just missing something but i carnt see wot, i dont normal need to ask for help but honestly the just change things for the sake of it these day and im at a loss on this one.
and apperently no dell support cos my cover ran out, didnt even no i had any tbh i got it from amazon.

it is of course possable it carnt update but there is a update for it and instructions for problem solving so it must be something im missing right?

Which 7020 do you have? Dell has released two different machines with that model. One with 4th generation Intel CPU and one with 14th gen CPUs.

4th Gen Intel CPU?
That is about a decade old....long before Win 11 was a thin. Even before WIn 10.

It did NOT come from Dell like that.
yea it was a third party refurbished, was on a budget when i got it last year.
and tbh its a late 4th gen so its a bit diff, but wot i dont get is why there is the update if not supported? and thats why im double checking really.
you think i should just downgrade?

and yea dell wouldnt put win 11 on this its none supported, i really dont know why anyone would do it ether tbh

But....the BIOS update, success or fail, has nothing to do with whatever OS is on it.
That happens before the OS is running.

oh let me explain, i need to do tmp 2.0 on win 11 to play

League of Legends

but on win 10 you dont so there is a reason to downgrade.
if i carnt get this sorted, i carnt play the game i miss.

the tmp is a bias security enabled chip that loads a win module if im correct?
i mean its lnik to sucure boot so im guessing

Well...that would have been good information, up front.

So downgrade to Win 10.

I 100% agree with USAFRet but save your future self some agony. Go on amazon.com and buy a 250Gb SSD and install Windows 10 on that and preserve the WORKING windows 11 as coming next year you gonna be happy you kept it when Windows 10 security updates go off line.

Or we will see you next year asking how to put Windows 11 back on your machine!
