Question TN or IPS 1440P Monitor?

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my setup from 1080P to 1440p (yes my graphics card is more than good enough). My primary usage is gaming, (some competitive, some non-competetive) followed by media consumption in the form of YouTube, Twitch, Hulu. I don't do any photo editing or video editing etc. So my question is should I buy this TN panel (Asus ROG Swift PG278QR) or this IPS panel (Asus ROG Swift PG279Q). I guess I'm trying to decide whether low input lag or better picture quality, contrast, color accuracy is more important for an all around gaming experience. Tough decision, please advise.

Tldr: Should I get a TN panel for the better input lag or an ISP for better picture quality, contrast, and color accuracy?

P. S. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT VIEWING ANGLES AT ALL

Color accuracy = IPS.

If that's your priority, the answer is fairly straightforward.

Perhaps consider a VA panel though? A solid middleground between TN and IPS.

Thanks for the advice. I think my main conflict is how MUCH better IPS picture quality and color accuracy is than TN. If it's night and day, I'll go with IPS. Perhaps I'll stop by Best Buy this weekend and see the differences in person. Thanks again.

How about the best of both worlds in form of a VA panel?

VA panel has much better colors than TN panel but not as good as IPS panel. Also, some VA panels do have response time as short as 1ms, just like TN panel monitors have.

Since you're looking for 27", 1440p monitor in 144Hz range, how about Samsung CHG70,

Samsung monitor is also curved and curvature does increase the game's immersion quite a bit. I too have curved VA panel monitor (specs) but mine is 24" and immersion isn't exceptional but still, it's there.

Wow! I always thought VA panels were much more expensive. I wasn't aware there were VA panels with these kinds of specs in a reasonable budget. I will definitely keep this one bookmarked, thank you!

Actually, IPS panel monitors are the most expensive since making them is more expensive as well. TN panels are cheapest while VA panel is between the two. Main downside of VA panel is that there aren't that many VA panel monitors out there to choose from.

I've used my VA panel monitor for a month now and i'm still amazed how good colors look with it, and i can say with certainty that i won't go back to TN panel.
