IM trying to upgrade from my Asus VE248H TN monitor to something more current, (this thing is super bright at lowest brightness and my eyes hurt)

First off i play on consoles with mouse and keyboard using a xim4. i will also use this monitor for pc as well but my pc has a radeon 7950 so modern games dont run well so i dont think i need a high refresh rate like 144hz.

Ive looked into the benq rl2455 but it seems like the rl2460ht is the better version of it but they are TN panels. They both have a 1ms response time and display lag seems to show their input lag bieng about 9-10ms.

I also want to best the picture quality so im wondering if i should go with the RL2460HT from newegg since the non-zowie version is 169.99 vs 219.99 on amazon fro the zowie version. OR....

the ASUS MX259H. The input lag seems to be about 9ms on displaylag if its the same as its 27 inch (MX279H) version but the difference between the 1ms response time on the benq to 5ms on the asus worries me.

my current asus has a 2ms response time so im wondering if i will notice the difference.

I mostly play FPS but i want to get the best graphics possible and every thread seems to show that TN is worse.

So considering the input lags are nearly the same between asus and benq, will the difference in response time worth getting a TN over the IPS?

Solution
you play on consoles and don't notice a difference between it and your PC currently? then you will definitely not notice a difference between 1-2ms (TN) and 4-5ms (IPS).

if you want nice colors (will not improve graphics) get the IPS panel. if you want speed, get the BenQ TN panel (recommended monitor by a lot of people).

honestly, your card won't run anything above 60FPS and your console less so. 144HZ is great but when it can be used. my advice is that you go with the Asus IPS monitor.

A response rate of 5ms and below is good enough for competitive gaming. Don't think most people would even notice a difference between 1ms and 5ms. In general, TN offers better response rates but not as good colour and clarity compared to IPS.

Since they're both 5ms and below, i'd just go with the IPS for better graphics.
