TN or Not TN... That is the question

I'm looking to purchase a 24" monitor. I mainly want it for gaming and at times maybe view a movie. I've looked around this forum and I hear some stories about TN screen and S-PVA, and P-MVA, etc. Could someone please tell me which is better for gaming and occasional movies?

Tn will be easy on pockets yet good...
S-PVA is costly but very nice !
