Hey there techies !

I'm on the hunt for a monitor to complete my setup and I noticed that I can't have an all-in-one monitor with a 500£ budget so I've decided to drop either IPS or G-sync.

As for what I want the monitor to include: 27" ,144hz, 1440p and from a company with good customer service (as backlight bleeds are far too common apparently). What I'm not sure about is whether 4 ms vs 1 ms is a huge difference for someone who doesn't play fps competitively. Mind you that I have never owned IPS ,TN ,144hz, 1440p, Gsync or a monitor with less than 4ms, so I'm not "going to miss" something.

I use my computer mostly for gaming and watching movies from my bed. Games I play include all genres but I mostly play WoW and Overwatch.

This is my build for reference : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Rizombie/saved/wpgXLk

Do you think that G-sync makes more of a difference or IPS for my needs? Also ,do you think I should include both and go higher in price ?

Solution
this is a personal preference question, so it would be better if you experienced both options at a store if possible.

- 1ms vs 4ms , no noticeable difference. I've tried both.
- new TN displays look very good, the only difference remaining is the viewing angles. since you watch movies from your bed this might be troublesome since you will need to adjust your monitor's position everytime you want to watch a movie.
- I play both WOW and Overwatch, tearing and framedrops being the reason I went for Gsync. IPS does look quite nice.

I'd say getting 144hz/1440p/Gsync is already a big upgrade, if you can't afford IPS go for TN without regrets.

You are very correct, I will most probably visit a store here and check some monitors out but even then you can't be sure if you don't test it for some days at home, that's why I asked here since people can talk from experience.

I'm more worried about the picture quality than I am for viewing angles and if you say that newer TN monitors address this issue then I'm going to be fine :)

Τhank you for your answer !
