I'm on a budget and I want to know whether the GT 1030 is worth it or if I should wait till next gen budget gpus are released. Where I live, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are more than double the price of the GT 1030 so don't tell me "the GTX 1050 Ti is budget king". Edit: By the way, I'm upgrading from Intel HD 4000 so differences are huge either way. I am just asking for whats best bang for buck

Solution
950 is equal to 1050, 960 would be 1060 3gb.
750ti is tad bettet than 1030 GDDR5.
External power if only one 6pin that would be i theory 75W+75W (other is from pcie express slot).
What about older cards? 900 series?
I mean if you wanna buy used cards they are gppd bang for buck at right price.
Even used cards for mining since its no longer profitable with warranty are good option rx 400/500 series.
But as RX knocks on door the prices could come down.
Whats your budget? And what do you expect from new card? 60 fps at 1080p or?

Gambling on a possibility. It might be that ppl will discount older mofels/stock to try and make room on the shelf for the new stuff, but much of that will be determined by the actual price of the new stuff. If there's already a good sized margin, there won't be much of any discount or the new stuff won't sell as good. So it's a gamble. In the mean time you've waited and missed out on your gaming and may or may not see any difference in price
