Should I wait for the new NVidia cards to come out and see how much the price will drop? or is $549 a good price for the Ati 1900XTX?

I can get an additional 10% off from Best Buy matching their price too. So, in essence, i could get it for around $500.

Any advice would be great.

If you are looking for an ATI card, go for the X1900XT. Cheaper, and can easily OC to XTX speeds without having to pay $100 extra. I have an ATi X1900XT, and i'm more than happy with it. I don't even have it OCed and though i have an Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 on it, it was more for getting rid of the stock cooler's noise rather than OCing since the card itself is powerful enough as it is. Don't bother with the XTX, go XT and i guarantee you'll be happy with it.

where can you buy that cooling solution at? and is it easy to install?

I managed to get some off www.thecoolingshop.com but i think that's a UK-based internet shop, and even then i managed to get them before the limited stock went (And believe me, both X1 and X2 coolers went quicker than a fifteen year-old's first time...). It's fairly easy to install, very straight forward. Remove stock cooler, clean off thermal compound, add thermal pads provided onto the RAM chips, then but the cooler on (thermal compound for the cooler is pre-applied and its MX-1 thermal compound which is good stuff), and screw it in. Then you get decent cooling (as good as the stock fan if its put on 100% fan speed, but without the vacuum cleaner noise impression) for a decent price.

P.S. Don't forget to plug in the power for the cooler! Some people would miss the obvious, so i would have to add this to prevent confusion and burnt-out X1900XTs.... >_>

I read somewhere that the X1900XTX actually has faster ram then the XT, and the overdrive allows them to be clocked up to 1800mhz, whereas the ram on the XT is capped at 1600mhz and is difficult to get any furthur.

I'll let you know tommorow hopefully whe I get my XTX.

Yup, I have 1.1ns ram, but it barely reaces 1700mhz. 🙁
