To delete a printer program, missed an update!

Hello,
I have a HP4400 all in one. A compact running on vista and windows 9. I missed an update. Ran a program or tried to print. got my spool problem. recovered the computer to an early date. but the program has to be deleted befor adding another. Help!

Also, unclear what you are trying to do ie, missed an update, program to be deleted before adding another....which one ? - add/remove program doesn't suffice ?
