Hello all, I am an engineer that uses my laptop for CAD, 3D design, geostatistical modeling etc. It can be quite intensive.
Currently I have a 2015 HP Pavilion, Intel Core i7 (6th Gen 2.6mhz), with 4GB graphics (NVEDIA), 32GB Ram and a 1TB SSD HD. IT works well but the programs become a little unresponsive with large processes (i.e. loading models) - people have told me this is due to the processor power.
I have a good deal on a HP ZBook, it has a i7 (8th Gen, 1,8mhz base up to 4.2 boost), 4GB AMD graphics, 16GB Ram and 512SSD - will this be too much of a downgrade? I like the ZBook as its over 1kg lighter than my Pavilion and thinner -as I travel for work.
