Question To Enter BIOS/UEFI you should Hold the respective key or press repeatedly?

Excuse me if this seems a silly question, but it's something I doubt: to enter BIOS/UEFI, should you hold or press repeatedly the respective key (F2, or whatever it is). Or this varies between BIOS/UEFI types?
