To Ultrawide Or Not To Ultrawide

Hey community, so my primary monitor is getting dimmer and dimmer by the month, so I plan to replace it by Christmas time. But I'm trying to figure out if ultrawide is worth it or not.

Basically, I work and game. My primary spec that is out of the equation is 60hz, I want at least 90-100hz.

I'm running a dual monitor config right now, however I wouldn't mind trying an ultrawide to replace BOTH monitors. But I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not.

So I'll either buy a 1440P 27-30' 100-144hz monitor, a 4k 144hz monitor (if by any chance they get cheap by Christmas which is doubtful) or a 3440 x 1440P 100hz or beyond ultrawide.

Thoughts?

I don't have an exact budget, but I'd like to keep it below $450. But, I believe there will be good sales during Christmas season, so I will consider anything in the $650 range or below, as long as it gets near $450 during sale.

The benefits of an ultrawide monitor only really appear once you get over 30" screen, or bigger and wider than you already have with two displays. The difference is pretty stark, gamers and movie fans will love the full surround experience without bezels in the way, and productivity hawks will love being able to keep multiple applications up side by side or tiled without actually having to resize anything to make them all usable at once.

That being said, for budget ultrawide monitors with 30" and bigger screens, you can look towards these:
