hello..

I'm having trouble deciding whether i need to upgrade my cpu to a i7 4790k
or up my cpu/mobo/ram/O.S to reach kaby lake.. i5 7600k or i7 7700k

would like to run these titles without having any performance issues.. but idk if i need to spend $$$
or just $ to get that..

I play alot of video games & well my currents spec aint working out for bf1, mirrors edge 2 & bf4ish..

here are my current specs

i5 4440 3.3ghz
Gigabyte B85m D3h
Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8gb 2x4gb 1600mhz

EVGA GTX 970 4gb ssc +
IHAS LiteON 124-14 CD Burner

Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM 64m cache
Western Digital Black 2TB 7200RPM 64m cache
Seasonic 650w gold psu
Corsair Graphite 230T Mid Tower Case

windows 7 home premium 64 bit
1080p 60hz 21.5" Samsung monitor

BF1 - low settings 1080p = 50-60fps
BF4 - ultra settings 1080p 😀 60fps w occasional drops to hi 50's
mirrors edge 2.. low settings 60fps now and then fps drops to 40 then back to 60fps..

Solution
I would have a hard time convincing myself to upgrade to a 4 year old cpu.

Coming from the proud owner of a 4930k @ 4ghz

I'd upgrade to a Geforce 1070 before touching cpu.

You may also be interested in a 1 terabyte Samsung 850 Evo.
Once you go ssd you never go back.
