Current specs:
-i3 6100
-gtx 750 ti
-8gb 2133 ddr4 (1x8)
-500w EVGA psu
-ASUS H110M-A motherboard
-1tb wd blue hdd

I want to upgrade to be able to play all new releases such as Battlefield V at 1080p 60+ fps.
Would it be worth staying with the Skylake platform over coffeelake or ryzen?
My current specs are pretty low end, so my thoughts are i'd be better off just building a whole new pc. I was thinking either i5 8400 or r5 2600, with gtx 1060 6gb or 1070. I dont want to spend any more than ~800/900 euro.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated :)

new platforms have more cores, which BFV may actually be able to use. ryzen 5 2600 has great single and incredible multi for $160.

intel's prices are going up due to their shortages. so the r5 2600 is even better of a deal. I wouldn't be surprised if AMD starts moving their prices up.

whether or not to replace everything depends on if you can sell the whole rig easily or not.
750 ti's aren't far behind 1050s in performance and better than 1030s, so their value holds fairly well online right now. I'd recommend trying to sell it before the next gen entry level comes out.

If I go the route of building new, i would give my old pc to my brother and not be selling it. Would you reccomend intel or AMD? I've heard that intel still has the leg up in terms of gaming performance. Also is a 1070 complete overkill for 1080p? I'd like the system to last a few years.
