To upgrade or not

I have a Diamond Monster MX-400 (is it better than it's predecessor MX-300?). Is this already a good card or should I get a Sound Blaster Live Value instead?
I'm running it on a PIII-933 on an Asus CUSL2 board.

if it ain't broken, don’t fix it. why do you need different sound card with the almost the same sound output as you have now? just wondering... heh

Unless at high-volume you get a lot of background/feedback, you'll probably not notice the difference of a SB Live. I used to use an awe-64 for that very reason, and the Live has even less background noise along with less power output.

If the background noise bothers you on your Monster, you might look into a Live.
