Current system: AMD FX-6300, R7 260X, 8GB Corsair DDR3, GIG 970A DS3P. 73 yrs old, playing Steam COD games. Want to play Doom 2016 and COD WWII. Is it possible to upgrade current system w/o replacing MB/CPU/GPU? Dell has a Inspiron 5675 today for under $500 with RYZEN 5 1400, Radeon RX 560 2GB GDDR5, 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHZ, 1 TB HDD.

Solution
Your FX-6300 is relatively weak, and there are no good cpu upgrades that do not involve replacing the cpu, motherboard and ram.

Bit, the R7-260x is really the weak part for mast games, particularly those involving fast action.

It would not be wrong to spend some $150 on a GTXX1050ti for immediate benefit, planning on upgrading the cpu... later.

Dell and other oem builders are not a good thing if you will ever want to upgrade in the future.
The psu supplied will be of minimal power and uncertain quality.
$350 or so will buy you a good cpu, motherboard and 8gb of ddr4 ram.

Dells are not crap. They are amongst the most reliable PCs on the market.

The Dell deal with a Ryzen 1400 rx560, etc is a smoking deal if you can get it for under 500.
To upgrade your current system, you would need a new MB?CPU/GPU and ram.

Personally I prefer to build my own. But that Dell price is just hard to beat, and comes with support.

If you don't mind getting in to the case with a screw driver, this will also be under 500 and faster than the Dell PC.
