TOB - Kiser's switches

I just started TOB. Looking for Adrik I went down into Kiser's basement.
There are 2 switches hidden under traps. When I disarm them it says
something about "muffled grinding of gears".

I have been completely unable to determine what this is. Can anybody clue
me in here? TIA

the left of the room.
