Toggle switches on a power strip?

I often find myself unplugging various items from the power strip because they do in fact use electricity even while off.

Has anyone added toggle switches to a power strip?

Would it be hard?

What voltage/amperage switches would I need?

Could I just go off of the ground or the 110?

What voltage/amperage switches would I need? I suggest looking for one that is already set up. Amazon.com has them rack mount 8sw/8outlet.
Easily converted for computer use. Also they have a smaller unit that is designed with one main sw and 4 individual w/outlets.

Could I just go off of the ground or the 110?

there are already products out there which feature a toggle switch on the front side and a plug for your device on the rear. some even come built into computer desks. i would go with this style as you maintain the surge-protection insurance. if you modify your existing power strip you will most likely void the warranty.
