I don't think there are alot of AMD users here.

One thing that will never change is that: -

The ones that are religious always stick to their brand

then the ones that are ________ whatever you call it will always follow the trend of "The best performance with reasonable price" CPU what ever the make

So far AMD got the lead so you see alot of us use AMD, if one day VIA/Cyrix? beat the crap out of both Intel/AMD, you would see us change too.

Bye!

Best regards
cx5

Quite a few AMD users from where I stand :)

Only thing saving Intel is the mindshare, not the products.

Here goes my ultimate gaming ring:

Cheapo generic mid-tower case with 230W "ULTRA" brand PS

Intel Pentium MMX 200 Mhz @ 225 or 250 (depends on my mood)

QDI Titanium 1B mobo with 1.2 beta bios supporting 83 Mhz bus

64 mb of EDO-RAM (2 cheapo sticks + 2 Texas Instruments) - they do support 83 Mhz bus

3dfx (sniff) Voodoo 3 2000 PCI @ whatever between 143 or 180 Mhz (depends on the processor speed, the slower the processor goes, the faster the 3d card can go)

8.4 GB Ultra-DMA 33 Seagate hard drive

48x AOpen CD-ROM drive
Plextor 12/10/32 A CDRW burner

SoundBlaster 32 Pnp (ISA)

3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem PCI (piece of crap) - my DSL provider sucks (256kb down - 128kb up)

Here go the fans: don't remember the name hard drive cooler,
massive Dr. Cooler fan + heatsink on the processor, voodoo 3 with custom fan + heatsink sandwich mod.

Don't laugh at me - I can play Quake 2 and CS properly

If you have got something better than this and don't want it, please let me know...

I dont laugh like a loosir. I laugh, because I am a loosir...

"HA,HA,HA,HA" (*Puke* by the way)

And you better heal yer brain a little bit more to understand that you are not a monkey anymore, so you could clime down from the toilet sit.

hehehe

its not too late yet...

sys 1:
k6-200(sits on the ground)

sys 2:
k6-2 400(tried to upgrade to a 550 chip, but my brother burned it out because he forgot the heatsink paste and fan)

sys 3:
Athlon Classic 650(not as sweet as when I bought it, but still runs great)

sys 4:
T-bird 1ghz(don't have it yet, but my vacation paycheck will be here soon!!)

Drink

Abit VT6X4
Celeron 500@563 2.2V
Creative Labs Annihilator Pro(Geforce 256 DDR @ 135/335)
128 PC 133 @ 100 mhz, CAS 2, Turbo Timings
Soundblaster 128 PCI
13 GB Quantum 7200 RPM ATA66
56x CD-Rom (40x Audio Rip!!!!)

I know that my system could be better, but I do get second highest score with similar systems on 3dmark2000, so I think I get a lot out of this machine then some people can, a score of 3951 for this is really good. Just so AMD people are happy, I might be going for a T-Bird 900 or more soon, but I also might go for a p!!! 933 or something, any help deciding would be great.

At first this thread seemed pointless to me, for it is not structured... BUT the question IS interesting and since many people have gone through the trouble of summing up their current systems, so will I too.

A. Duron 650@950 (yeah, I squeezed out another extra 100Mhz thanx to Tom's tip in yesterday's Duron 850 review (close the L7 bridges for 1.85V)), 128MB PC133, 13.6GB 66Mb/s, Chaintech 7AJA mobo, Innovision TNT2 Ultra, Sony CRX140 8x4x32, AC97 sound.
B. Celeron 300@374 (=4.5x110Mhz ought to be 500Mhz, not?), 64MB PC100, 6.4GB + 2.5GB + 2.1GB, Promise U-ATA66 card, DFI P2XBL mobo, Diamond Viper V550 AGP, Actima 32X, OEM Yamaha 16-bit sound.
C. Intel P120@133 (yeah, even this one is overclocked 😉 ), 32MB FP, 540MB, Aska SST5805 mobo, OEM S3 Virge DX/GX, no CD-rom, SB16VE sound.

I'm still pretty happy with this collection, especially the real fast Duron and the rock stable Celeron.

Keep it cool!
