Hey guys,

I read an article this morning showing AMD's TressFX technology on the new Tomb Raider game. Looks quite nice if you ask me. I've got everything Nvidia on my PC and I'm wondering if the feature will be available for Nvidia users... anyone know?

Thoughts?

Updated: Ok, so Nvidia users can also use the feature but Nvidia drivers don't seem to be as optimized as AMD's drivers for it. Hopefully, Nvidia releases improvements on the next drivers (which hopefully be soon enough).

I just finished the game, and in my opinion Tomb Raider is back. My hardware is still the same as my signature, and I will tell you that as an Nvidia user, don't expect to be playing 60 fps with TressFX. Not right now anyway.

Fortunately the game looks great everywhere and I really didn't miss the over-the-top hair (the normal hair still moves and in many scenes looks better).

I had a great time with this game. I was skeptical about it, but I'm damned happy that I picked it up.

@casual I have had a good time playing it (about 1 1/2 hours in) I think it looks great just on ultra settings with no Tressfx. I was struggling with my stock 7850 on ultimate, I think if I OC I wouldn't have an issue.

You're probably done playing it by now but disabling SSAO for TressFX on an AMD card might be a fair trade for some...

I'm still having huge problems with tressfx performance with my 560 Ti SLI. Benchmark shows an avg of 9FPS for the first 15 seconds of the benchmark...horrible. I keep holding off for this game to get better performance but man...how long will we have to wait.

After looking at the Geforce forums, seems like lots of people aren't happy/gave up on TressFX & Nvidia drivers. Sad.
