I have (had?) a 20 gig WD 7200 drive on my Win2K system full of obscure Tom Waits mp3's. I did the ready, fire, aim thing and reformatted the drive before checking it was the drive I wanted to reformat. Does anyone know of some no brainer software, that does not cost hundreds of dollars, that will enable me to bring Tom back?

most software can only recovre deleted stuff, formatting your harddisk is pretty final.

I need a 1.5 Ghz Athlon + 512mb ddr ram to write emails......honestly

Try an older version of DOS and go for the unformat command.

True, unless you have an image of your hard drive before the format. I have Norton SystemWorks 2002 Pro, and I image my hard drive every 2 weeks to 1 month to CD-RWs. This is one of the reasons I bought a faster burner in the first place. 4X writing to a CD-RW takes forever!
