Did any of you catch that blood moon eclipse last night (Sunday night)? It was very beautiful to watch, the kind of moment that makes you think about the vastness of space and just how amazing life is. As one of my friends explained, I “got cosmic with it”, laying on my roof and staring at the sky. Seems like an apt description.

Missed the blood moon eclipse phenomenon? You’re going to have to wait a few decades for the next one, but worry not—we’ve got the next best thing for you! Up for grabs this week, we have two (2) copies of Elite: Dangerous! Explore the universe and get cosmic with it from the comfort of your own home (where there are no clouds to obstruct the view).

Want to enter? Take a picture of your battlestation, the computer/spaceship that will take you into the world of Elite: Dangerous, with Tom’s Hardware in there somewhere! You can have the site up on the screen, have ‘Tom’s Hardware’ written on a piece of paper, whatever works for you. Some of you may even have some Tom’s branded goodies (case badges, hammers, etc), which would be just perfect! If you don't know how to add a picture to your post, just follow these handy instructions

There’s also a chance for you to get a bonus entry! Elite: Dangerous announced support for SteamVR last week, on top of its existing Oculus compatibility. If you’ve got an Oculus Rift or or HTC Vive development kit, include them in the picture to qualify for a second entry!

Contest will run until 12 PM EDT on Friday, October 2nd. That’s 12:00 noon. Winners will receive their prize as a Steam gift; a Steam account is required to receive and to play the game. One entry per user. Winners will be selected randomly from among eligible entries. Attempts to cheat the system will result in automatic disqualification.

Be sure to join our Steam group! The group is nearing 1,000 members, and we’ve got a great surprise planned for that, so help us reach that goal faster by inviting your friends!

We’re actively looking for volunteers to write community reviews for games, so if you’re interested, please reach out to me for more details.

Well, here's my battle station!

Consists of a Sager NP9773, an older RAT 7 mouse, G35 headset, and the all-important Ethernet to avoid the problems of college dorm WiFi. Laptop is cooled by two dead TB hard drives that prop the back up. Very high tech.

Sorry for the bad quality but I only have my old cell phone to take photos right now.
Specs: i5 3470, 8gb RAM, r9 285, 500gb and 1 TB HDDs. It has speakers but it's a 5.1 system so it's all around the room.

Big believer in oldskool big towers, big desks, multiple screens.
What's showing is the old Phenom x4 gaming PC on the left and even older MacPro on the right.
Also, I really need to tidy up that corner.

New rig with a core i5, GTX 970, SSD, and small footprint. Love the Core V1 case, works great. It would pair nicely with Elite: Dangerous. Now I just need a T-16000M...
