Yeah, I know that this is on Tomshardware, so there might be some bias, just give me the advantages of each forum. (Alas, we are all followers of Gaben, despite our denomination)

Thank you for your wisdom and lack of fanboyism, o senior moderator. However, I do love the old conflict. Pray to Gaben that this shall not become a flame war of epic proportions.

All are good.

Although Tomshardware forum seems to have had a huge influx of new members who are not knowledgeable and often giving incorrect advice... No idea why at the moment. Ive even seen people on here with Master badges giving terrible incorrect advice.

We do try to keep up with the less than informed brigade but unfortunately, we also face heavy Spam attacks and sometimes get diverted from the real work. Feel free to post against an inaccurate piece of advice but not against the poster and to bring anything like that to the attention of the Moderation Team, please use the Report button.

Yeah of course. I have reported posts in the past where I felt that the OP was being misled by bad advice, but the moderator told me that they cannot do anything about bad advice if the post conforms to the rules.

If you dont know the answer (or have experience troubleshooting the type of problem), its best not to suggest anything IMO. There has been quite a few times i've seen people pressured into buying a new PSU or other component, then to find it hasn't fixed the problem, when other troubleshooting steps could have come first.

I'll visit any of the websites listed above when researching on tech-related subjects. I tend to use Tom's and Anand for getting the latest news on tech related stuff and reviews on hardware because I don't upgrade often so I'm always looking at new products.

I think of Tom's Forum like Yahoo Answer. I come here for help when things go wrong or I want to learn something new and I don't want to do the actual research. People tend to reply faster here and although some answers aren't the best/correct there is always someone with a different opinion (or the more correct opinion). I also cannot really find long discussions about one particular product/series at Tom's. Maybe it's because I tend to stay in CPU, Gaming, Overclocking sections only. For example notebookreview.com has dedicated threads to particular notebook models/series. Overclock.net seems to be the version for computer components and that's where I tend to go to share my experience with a particular component and read from others.

In conclusion I get the most help and usefulness out of Tomshardware and Overclock.net fulfills my need for discussing my current hardware.

I tend to enjoy a mix, th, anandtech, hardocp, overclockers.. It's nice to have some diversity and a broad range of opinions or just to have a different outlook on things being reviewed. Maybe not, but I at least feel better informed having as much information as I can get and no one site can do it all. It's not a fault of the site/forum it's just the way of things. When people research, they often select several sources.
