Tons of lag with FX-8150

Hey guys, why am i getting a bunch of lag on arma II with my FX-8150 processor? My gpu is a gtx 660ti. My friend has the same gpu but with a first gen i5 and he gets no lag??? Please help me

Mate, you should have never got a Bulldozer CPU. They are very bad. Exchange it while you still can.

FX-8350 is competitive with the i5. At least for gaming.

I bought a 3770k a couple days ago but couldnt use it due to me having a am3+ socket instead of a lga1155 but is it worth upgrading to a 8350??

Did you return the CPU? That wasn't a smart move to buy an intel processor for an AMD motherboard. The 8350 is worth it to buy, but make sure you buy a cooler as well, such as the Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO for $30. With overclock, the 8350 should be on par or exceed a stock i5 3570k.

Before you invest money into anything it may be worth investigating other causes of lag. I have had ARMA II run smoothly on an FX-4100 + HD 6850 which is well below your original system specs.

What motherboard do you have?

The only time I have major, and when I saw major I mean like 10-15 fps from 50+ fps. and thats when: 1. everyone is shooting at once 2. ton of vehicles around 3. on a taki life server. Taki life is my fav and I really want this lag to stop

Just get a 8350 Piledriver http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284 and use it on your existing Mobo.
