I just got this new Graphics card, but it won't fit. There's this little tab that keeps it from going down. Is it because I need a bigger case?

-What graphics card do you have?

-What case do you have?

-Do you have any additional things added to your graphics card like a custom cooling block?

I don't know the case but it's the default one for the 400-430 HP pavilion slimline. I recently bought the Nvidia GeForce 8800GT and I think it already has a cooling fan inside it

When you say there is this little tab that keeps it from going down, can you take some pictures of the tab and show them to me?

Is this the tab you are talking about?

Yes that is the exact tab I'm talking about. Everytime i go to insert it, it's crooked because of that. Imo i think i need a new case.

I believe thats standar on all nvidia (atleast) cards. I think if you try again it should fit.

If not then you have 2 options.

1. You can cut it off, try to make it smaller but risk some damage to the card/case.
2. You can buy a new case.

But it should fit. (Mostly)

Your computer needs low profile card like this on the right side of the picture or the double singles on the left:

Yea thats probably why, dont know why i diddent think about it.

I already found a good looking and cheap case. Although a bit sad, I really do appreciate how fast you responded! I was expecting about a week for an answer, but instead took a few hours. Thx for tips!
