Question Too drunk to drive in GTAV

I can't seem to drive a car steady in GTAV. I'm playing the offline Story mode and when I have to drive, the slightest touch of the mouse or arrow keys makes my car veer out of control. I can't keep up with the guy in the first test so the mission fails.

What setting should I adjust? It can't be mouse sensitivity because when I use the keyboard I have the same problem.

I never had a problem driving in GTA V on keyboard. The trick is to make sure you accelerate mainly on straights, and on curves, coast and tap vs hold the steer keys. How many taps depends on how tight the turn is and what speed you're going. Some turns and straights of course you can hold vs tap the steer keys, but too much of that on tighter turns can become a problem.

You could also check if you are getting high enough FPS with your current graphics setting, might want to adjust those for better performance, I remember when I first played GTA V having the right settings and high enough fps made the game very much more playable especially.

I used a program called FRAPS: https://fraps.com/ works up to Direct X 11, and shows FPS while running a pc game.

If you want a minimal resource use FPS meter, since we're talking performance related issues, RTSS is the lowest impact.
