Too High FPS = Squeaking Monitor

I have a 60Hz monitor and notice how it seems to squeak/squeal when the FPS is too high (>750fps). It stops when I cap the fps to 60Hz.

Is this normal? Or is there a problem with the monitor, or in fact actually the desktop.

I have checked the temperatures and all are sufficiently low, so its not that.

Hi
I also have this.
Turning V-Sync on is recommended, mostly capping the FPS won't do anything harmful, if it is a game like CS(or a game where you can open a console), you can enter max fps in the console to prevent this. I'm not entirely sure if it is the monitor(SyncMaster940N for me), but all desktops I've used have this problem, so you can cross desktop being faulty off the list :) As the monitor is 60Hz, capping it to 60(61 for having 60 fps in most cases) won't make you miss any frames etc etc.
