Hi, when I play games (eg, Battlefield 1) I'm pretty sure my temperatures are too high

The GPU and CPU will usually be about 70-85°C when I'm playing a game

Is this too hot?

Dont really know too much about computers, so i'm a bit worried

Also, could this be affecting my FPS?

Solution
85c is where problems can start to occur

1. Ensure that PC is free of dust
2. Ensure PC is in an open space with good airflow
3. Make sure all fans are working
4. Buy more fans
5. Buy a better CPU cooler
6. Reduce the clock on your CPU or GPU, instructions can be found online, this will reduce performance, but cause less heat.

Do you have any CPU cooler on the processor now? If you don't DO NOT use your computer until you buy one.

The GPU will throttle at 82C so that is hurting performance. And while a competitive overclocker would be fne with 85C on the CPU, most folks like to keep below 80C ... I am kinda surprised any 1060 can hit that temp.

1. GPU - With the card getting that hot, I'd say case cooling is a issue. Figure one 120mm fan for each 50 - 75 watts of cooling if you are interested in a quiet system ... 75 - 100 if you don't care about noise.

2. Your CPU did not come with the stock cooler, so your or your system supplier must have installed one ... what is it ?

Better cooling is always better but it's a matter of how much you want to spend and how much you want to OC.

$25 - Hyper 212 ... I use on $850 systems
$35 - Cryorig H7 .... $1000
$50 - Various Scythe coolers .... $1200
$70 - Phantekls PH-TC14PE ... $1350
$80 - Noctua NH-D15 .... $1500
$140 - Swiftech H220 X2 ... $1750
