I have a serious problem. I have my pc since december and it has a intel pentium g3258 for cpu. The problem is that for some reason it uses a lot of usage even 100% sometimes. For example I can just surf the web and its gonna be 5-20% and it can grow to 70%, and when I open a game or skype it goes 90-100% causing my pc to crash and to drop frames.

I have windows 7 64bit proffesional. I had a laptop which also had an dual core cpu with windows 8.1 but it doesnt show any problems with cpu usage.

I really need help or I am gonna buy a new cpu.

pc: intel pentium g3258, asus r7 260x, 8gb ram, thermaltakes se 530w.

Thanks.

First thing to try, adjust your power settings to high performance and see what that does to your gaming CPU usage. Just ran into this problem with another user, and that dropped it from 80-100% (even on less demanding games), down to the 20% range, and bumped his MMO from 4fps to a capped 60 with no other adjustment.

I did this but it didnt helped anything.

Darn. Since the user in question had the same experience with the same processor, I was hoping the easy fix would work here too. I still suspect power settings (that really sounds like the processor being stuck in power-saving mode) but you may need to poke around a bit in your BIOS instead of just the windows power settings.
