Is it worth installing another 128 mb of ram in my computer if I'm running Win 98se with 256 already installed or am I wasting my money? Is this an overkill of memory running win 98se?

It depends on what you're running, but that's probably about true.
However, you can never have too much RAM, and SDRAM is really cheap now. I have 512MB

Apple? Macintosh? What are these strange words you speak?

I saw a big improvement win Win98SE going from 256 to 512- esp. in online gaming. My SETI@home also takes less time to finish a work unit- i'm at 6 1/2 hrs now. I was at 7 1/2.

Even though memory is cheap, the money might be better spent toward the purchase of a faster processor (if you can upgrade).

I wonder...what is the speed of gravity?

Larger apps will open faster with more memory...at home 512MB at work 1GB. I feel the difference everyday.

512mb is good...
specially if your doing alot of stuff and games.
but no more.
win 98 is known to have issues dealing with more than 512mb.

This behavior must not continue! Feel the BURNING STARE of my HAMSTER... and change your ways!

You should try a program called Cacheman it can optimize the Win98 Cache to what sort of work you do and can overcome the Win98 512MB limit.
will also tell you how much free mem you have.

yeh i think the breaking point with 98 is somewhere between 320 and 360... once you break that point its sweet running with 98... had under 15 second bootup with 320 megs... same bootup took 35 with 256 and 55 with 128 so id say its worth it...
