Too much power?

I've looked through the forums and I was wondering if I was pulling too much power.

I have i7 6700K
NVidia GeForce GTX 970 sc
Corsair DDR4 8x2gb
1 TB Western Digital Hard Drive

I have a 800 watt power supply unit.

I used a power supply calculator and it said I would be pulling at the most ~500 watts.

Any help will be appreciated!

800 watts is plenty, with your GPU/CPU/DDR4 RAM/Motherboard I would assume you would be pulling at least 500 watts.

Your computer will only draw the power it needs to run , extra doesn't hurt.

Blackbird says the truth. If anything bigger can be better, most rated to be cooled from a higher power draw and thus running cooler and possibly happier.

Most psus generally see their best performance and efficiency between @50% load and 70%. At @400-500w draw on a 800w psu, you are right in line.

As the others have stated, you are good to go.

An 80+ certified PSU of any level has their highest efficiency in a band near the middle of their ratings. Many modern PSUs also have a feature that their fans wont turn on below certain temperature or load values, which is why some people now trying to build silent machines go for PSUs much higher than they need.
