Hi everyone,

I am debating between the XPS 15 and the Surface Book.
The XPS 15 has a i7 6700HQ, which is a quad core, whilst the Book has i7 6560U, which is a dual core.
I consider myself a demanding user and cannot stand lag. While I don't do any video editing nor plan on doing much gaming, a typical session for me involves 10+ web tabs, Twitch, Spotify, 2-3 spreadsheet, word doc., and etc. I tend flick through between these sessions really fast too.

Can the chip in Surface Book, i7 6560U dual core, be able to handle my workload? I am leaning towards the Surface Book but I am afraid it might not be powerful enough.

Thanks in advance!

Ah yeah, well the Dual core is fast. The built in gpu of the dual core is fast as well, really fast, and it will have a better battery life. But the 6700hq comes with 960m which is faster for sure. But if you don't need a GPU, meaning you don't play games then the iris pro is sufficient for everything. The 6560U will give you a way longer battery life if that is what matters, but it is significantly slower, about twice slower I must say, but this can be noticed only during heavy workloads. But for your usecase the dual core will be enough. It will handle it.

Hi I have edited my thread to be a little more clear, sorry about the confusion. I am mostly concerned about if the dual core can handle my workload or do I have to opt for the quad core.
Thanks!
