I have a mATX case with i3-2120, H61, 8GB 1333, and CM Elite 430 psu. I am replacing a GTX560 with GTX970 and waiting for it to arrive. Currently undecided between 4790k and 5820k for future 2015 build, but would like the card for now even though it may bottleneck.

So question is does anyone know who sells a TOP MOUNT psu that are 80+ and 500-600w? I found the Antec Basic 500, is there any others under $100 that you can recommend?
Thanks

Top or bottom mount is a case question, not an PSU question. Only real difference is the orientation of the power supply (how you get heat out of your case).

The Antec Basiq is their -- as you may have guessed -- their basic line of PSUs. Going up to $100, you can do a lot better. Like a Seasonic 620 Bronze, an XFX 550, Antec HCG 620M, Rosewill Capstone 550M.

Thanks for your response, the case is only set up for top mount. I am understanding the top mount suck hot air out and the bottom suck cold air in. How would I be able to use a bottom mount to work as a top mount? Shift wire polarity?

The best placement of the PSU is frequently determined by the layout of your fans. However, you don't do anything like opening it up and tinkering, you just choose to either have the PSU upside down or right-side up.

Thanks everyone for your help, when the 970 arrives I will update if it runs well using the existing CM 460, the card is still on back-order at Amazon. I know top mount coolers are not normal these days in gaming rigs so I appreciate the time you spent. I am just hoping I can max out a few games and save $1000 on another build, and use that money for Christmas gifts.
